Beautiful Fall Day in Western VA

Two days ago I had the pleasure of flying across southern Kentucky, western Virginia, and western North Carolina. We stayed low at 3500 ft MSL in pristine VFR flying conditions. At one point, we flew down the famous Cumberland Gap from northeast to southwest at the elevation of the "military crest" of the surrounding mountains that formed the valley, which runs for many miles. The attached picture was taken just as we entered the Gap. Could a more beautiful sight be seen? I think not. These are the times you could "touch the face of God."
